Welcome to Joelton Middle School

Letter from the Principal

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Joelton Middle School.  Our slogan is, "At Joelton Middle School, we can teach anyone."  We are committed to helping students develop hopes, dreams, and goals to become successful life-long learners.  We strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment.

Joelton Middle School is a Title I school, and we encourage parents and the community's involvement and input. Academically, classroom instruction is data driven and is implemented based on district initiatives and aligned with district and State standards.  Our faculty and staff participate in continuous professional development to continually provide effective standards-based instruction to insure students are taught by highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals.  Joelton Middle School is on the path of improvement.

Parents are important. Parent participation within the school and at student activities is highly encouraged.  We know the family unit is an integral factor in student's academic achievement and social success.  Please feel free to offer your support.  It is needed and appreciated.

Each school day students recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the Citizenship Pledge.  We value education, students, faculty, and staff and have four expectations of every student in the Citizenship Pledge:
  • Come prepared
  • Focus on instruction
  • Attend school everyday possible
  • Choose good behavior
As Peter Senge states, "All human beings are born with unique gifts.  The healthy functioning of our community depends on its capacity to develop each gift."  It is a privilege to have the opportunity to develop their gifts.  Thank you for sharing your child and entrusting us with them.
Sincerely

Patti Spann, Principal
